Did anyone see Dr Chatterjee's brilliant programme last night ' Live well with the drug-free doctor'? A few months ago I was interviewed for the programme. A friend had put me forward, my initial reaction was 'hell no'... and then I was encouraged, strongly to do the attached video!
The team contacted me the next day and I was interviewed. Both the team and I knew after the interview I wasn't the 'right fit' for this particular programme despite the copious amounts of drugs i'd been given over the years, I had never been on prescription drugs to manage my MS. I thought that was the end of it, then a few weeks later the team contacted me and ask me to put together some videos of a selection of my lifestyle interventions and why I do them. Cue the panic and fear of recording myself in a bikini for the ice bath, and yes I could have used a swimsuit had I owned one!
Anyone that knows me, knows that I never miss a deadline, and that I will avoid doing something until the very last minute. This was no different and I nearly chickened out. My daughter did a great job of filming to their guidelines despite having to re-record the most challenging of the 4 lifestyle interventions... the Brass Monkey Ice Bath!
I may choose to release these and the explanations of how and why they support my wellness journey, at a later date, if I'm brave enough!
For now, here is my story in a nutshell and as I say in the video, if me sharing helps just one person find the courage to try something to support themselves on their wellness journey it will have been worth the time, effort and vulnerability that this has taken.
If you haven't watched the programme it was on Channel 4, Thursday 8th Jan 2026, you can get it on catch up. The team did an amazing job of getting such an important message across for anyone living with a health condition.
